Genoveses

08. März 2011

Before I left Spain I could enjoy a week of Wind. 3 days Culoperro, Genoveses low wind action (rarely planning to the outside), 1 Playa Chica Tarifa, and Genoveses big action, 2 days Culoperro again.

Here’s what has been on at Genoveses: it was crazy gusty and inconstant wind with much too overpowered 4.2 – but the good thing about the overpowered was that there haven’t been wholes left (usually it’s pretty hard to go out due very less wind in impact zone!). There has been just 5 people on the water – 4 far ahead of my level and I – amazing day for me!

Waves  -  mast height!

I guess I made a new move: Bottom turn into chicken wave escape!

well I thought “this one is right – lets drop down into bottom turn”.

facing the perfect lip, I lost a lot of speed because the rig pulled like crazy from the gusty undirected wind…

I just took the emergency exit…

lack of water – I didn’t wanted to jump any wave, cause I almost couldn’t hold the sail!

just an amazing day! !! !!!

Bienvenido al forward!

25. Januar 2011

Back at Almerimar Culoperro I got to make forwards! The last 3 days have been with cold Levante.

23rd pretty cold day with 5.3! yesterday has been the best day since I know Culoperro with about 2 meter waves! Today cruising with 5.3 and my new Skate 110L. It’s an awesome board – just doesn’t feel that big, superfast planning and even nice for jumping forwards!

Now I know how to rotate left handed forwards even a little bit stalled. But till now I didn’t land one – still waterstarting – but it’s just a matter of time. The rotation is quite smooth and I just need to advance a little with it :)

Prologue

I’ve tried my new CC 167 Freerideboard an I really like it – perfect for powder! And the Union Force binding is also nice!

Sunday Monday action

01. November 2010

I made a nice trip to Istria this weekend. There have been good forecasts for Istria and I wanted to check out Umag – a supposed good wave spot there.

The forecast has not come true and by midday there haven’t been much wind there but a lot of locals.

So I headed headed more upwind to Prematura most souther point of Istria. With a mostly overpowered 5.3 I could enjoy the point-brake at Cape Kamenjak. It was quite crowded and hard to surf cause the section is pretty small and you can decide if you try to ride it or jump on the way back.

On Monday the wind wasn’t that strong any more and more on/off which didn’t make it easier with the quite big swell of about 2-3m.

I hope next time the wind will be better but it was really nice to enjoy these two wavy days :)

Autumn session

21. Oktober 2010

Peter and I had the change to enjoy a windy day at lake Neusiedl. More or less wind powered my 5.3. with the waveboard I could train some forwards which was quite hard for me because there are no ramps so it’s was quite a speedloop session.

one of the first tries; not that bad

Here I go: my first water-start landing of a “frontloop” !! YEAHHH

Unfortunately the big board have been a little too small for him – but at least he could enjoy a ride!

Sottomarina

17. Oktober 2010

We had an awesome first day at Sottomarina. With really nice waves about 2-3 m and 4.2 sail we could enjoy it.

The water was surprisingly “warm”, the wind was a little bit up and down and more downwind there have been more current.

We surfed till we have been totaly exhausted – and I was quite happy with my riding with left handed wind!

al360 carbon boom

05. Oktober 2010

I bought a new boom – the great al360 carbon 140-200.

e3 carbon rosso

First I haven’t been quite sure about the V shape grip but I guess it’s good – till now I can’t say it is really good – just because I didn’t surf that much with the new boom (just two weeks in Pozo).

But the Boom is really stiff and the grip is strong and comfortable (and if the grip is lost they even renew it!). The range is from 140 to 200 (so I still can use my 6.4 with it). Unfortunately the front end needs an adapter for the rdm mast – the only thing i dislike.

Really nice peace of Italian custom work!
